Deli Clerk/Cashier/Customer Service

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve deli products such as meats, cheeses, and sandwiches according to established recipes and standards.
• Assist customers in selecting deli items, providing recommendations, and answering inquiries.
• Act as a cashier, handling customer transactions accurately and efficiently, processing payments, and providing receipts.
• Keep the deli counter and cashier area clean and organized, ensuring a presentable and inviting atmosphere.
• Operate deli equipment such as slicers, grinders, and ovens, following safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Perform regular cleaning tasks, including sanitizing surfaces, washing dishes, and maintaining a tidy workspace.
• Monitor and manage deli inventory, restocking products as needed and notifying management of low stock.
• Handle customer inquiries and concerns, providing excellent customer service.
• Multitask efficiently by balancing food preparation, customer service, and cashier responsibilities.
• Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the quality and freshness of deli products.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive and efficient deli department.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculation

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a deli or food service role is preferred.
• Experience with cashier duties and handling transactions.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.50 - $15.60 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
