What are the responsibilities and job description for the Drivers Education Instructor position at Jefferson Parish School District?
Qualifications:
- A Certified High School Teacher
- Driver's Ed. Classes are taught 4 times a year. It involves Classroom instructions and individual student behind the wheel instruction.
- Once approved by JPS the following will need to be completed:
- Must complete 30 Hour Driver's Education Course through JPS(JPS employee's will pay the JPS employee rate)
- Instructor Fee $10 per license year - made payable to DPS or OMV($10 or $20) (Odd number years = $20 or Even number years = $10) Example: If applying in (odd year) 2023=$20 or (Even year) = $10.00
- Proof of Sexual Harassment Course
- Medical Examination
- Background Check:
- Finger Print(to be completed in Baton Rouge with State Troopers office)
- Authorization form, Disclosure form for the OMV, Background check fees are made payable to Louisiana State Police
- Disposition for any arrests
- Louisiana license - Class "D" or higher
- 5 years unrestricted licensed driving experience
- 21 years of age or older
- Third Party Instructor Fees: $25 per license year($25/$50)made
- Payable to DPS(Odd number year = $50 or even number year = $25)
- Third Party Examiner Training/Test
