SUMMARY
Under broad supervision, is responsible for all sales efforts on the bulk and packaged lines of the National Sales Division, primarily in the Grocery, Drug, and Convenience trade classes in the Western United States.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
On a regular basis, makes direct headquarter calls on the above mentioned classes of trade to assigned customers.
Provides liaison between the client network, brokers, and our company with regard to pricing, invoicing, promotional dates, activities, etc.
Maintains and develops a broker network in assigned area for the National Sales Division in the above mentioned class of trade.
Recommends and participates in national and regional trade shows.
Maintains and submits sales activity reports on a regular basis.
Manage the use of budgets and align with P&L objectives.
Assists clients in special displays and/or programs dictated by their sales circumstances.
Helps to develop and maintain marketing programs in area of responsibility.
Forecasts cases, pounds, and dollar sales for both every-day and seasonal items.
Ensures that all appropriate clients are provided product samples.
Corresponds with each broker/headquarters monthly regarding their product sales and needs.
Participates in broker sales meetings and in broker training.
Performs store checks, assists in new store sets, and reports on display quality.
Suggests broker network changes and terminations.

Manage daily DSD sales and tasks assigned to DSD service for assigned customers and/or geography and provide weekly reports, as well as manage broker coverage for the customers.
Is responsible for managing territory and account specific assigned budgets. Budgets to include trade funds, returns, broker commissions, travel and entertainment expenses, etc.
Performs other duties as required by management of the Company.

Regular, predictable, full time attendance is required as an essential function of this position. The employee may be required to perform other such duties within the scope of their employment as may be assigned. The employee must also possess the ability to take direction, follow instructions, work with others, follow work rules and schedules, and focus on details.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. An equivalency of education could possibly fulfill formal degree requirements.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.
Frequent travel is required via air and road.
