What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant position at Jenna Sedberry DDS PLLC?
Monday - Thursday 8 am - 5 pm
1 hour lunch from 1 pm - 2 pm
Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms for patients by ensuring that all necessary instruments and supplies are sterilized and ready for use
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures, including passing instruments, suctioning, and providing patient education
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring and trimming models, fabricating temporary crowns, and taking impressions
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical coding systems as necessary
- Schedule patient appointments and handle dental receptionist duties as needed
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a dental assistant preferred
- Proficiency in Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar dental practice management software
- Knowledge of medical imaging systems such as Dexis or other electronic health record systems is a plus
- Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
