Restaurant Associate

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE To help the Restaurant meet daily sales goals and to ensure a positive customer experience by performing the following duties: Host/Hostess, Server, Dishwasher, Cook and providing superior customer service. NATURE AND SCOPE This position may include Host/Hostess, Dishwasher, Server, and/or Cook responsibilities. Emphasis in this position is providing prompt, efficient and superior customer service. The position is responsible for taking and delivering food and beverage orders, ensuring accurate and prompt service. Position functions and work hours may vary according to business needs. Assignments and work direction provided by Restaurant Manager or person in charge. The position includes ongoing moderate to heavy lifting, walking, standing, social skills, judgment/decision making, reading, writing, and math. ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS Assist Customers Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the restaurant or elsewhere in the store Make an effort to learn customers' names and to address them by name whenever possible Answer the telephone promptly when called upon, and provide friendly, helpful service to customers who call including taking customer orders Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and takes action to correct any problems Collect payments from customers Write customers' food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to restaurant staff Take orders from customers for food or beverages Check customer’s identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages Serve food or beverages to customers, and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required Present menus to customers and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request Clean tables or counters after customers have finished dining Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens Report to work when scheduled and on time Clean restaurant Follow all safety, sanitation and food handling regulations Assist in cleaning department and maintaining conditions in the back room Clean shelves, racking and cases as needed Use personal protective devices (splash goggles, chemical-resistant gloves) as required Follow all store and department policies and procedures Perform other duties as assigned or delegated Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Jerry’s Enterprises, Inc. will provide reasonable accommodations (such as a qualified sign language interpreter or other personal assistance) with the application process upon your request as required to comply with applicable laws.
