Maintenance Tech

Essential Functions

• Responsible for providing maintenance of all JESPY properties
• Evaluate the need for renovations
• Establish budgetary guidelines with the Director of Operations for repairs and capital improvements
• Obtain estimates for all contracted work on JESPY property
• Monitor all project progress through completion
• Coordinate purchase and maintenance of all JESPY vehicles
• Cooperate with the state agencies in any inspection or investigation


• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance, carpentry, and painting functions.


• Assist in the preparation and administration of the program budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor expenditures
• Request cash as needed for weekly programming and resolve cash disbursements with the finance department
• Monitor and track any expenditure on the supplied credit card and report all expenditures to the finance department
• Identify donors or companies that may donate supplies for various program
• Developing and maintain metrics relative to service delivery and departmental performance
• Other duties as assigned by the Executive Office

Educational Requirements

• High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.

Work Experience Requirement

• Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices
• Experience performing routine maintenance
• Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC a plus

• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
• Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary
• Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, ad wrenches,

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

• This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days may vary

Special Working Conditions/Physical/Requirements – Working Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
• Must be available for coverage on some weekends and after 5pm when required.
• Must hold a high school diploma
• Valid New Jersey driver's license is required
• Must successfully complete CPR/First Aid Valid Certification
• Successful clearance of Drug Screening
• Has fulfilled the necessary training requirements and is in good standing in order to bill Medicaid for Support and Community Care Waiver (CCW) Services and CDS

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
