Cashier

Position Title: Cashier Department: Front End Supervisor: Front End Manager FLSA: Full-Time/Part Time, Hourly, 6-8 Hour Shift, Union Restaurant Depot is a wholesale cash-and-carry foodservice distributor. Position Summary:We are looking for Cashiers to manage all transactions with customers accurately and efficiently. Cashier responsibilities include receiving payments and issuing receipts and keeping track of all cash, check and credit transactions. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience in a customer service position and good knowledge of how cash registers operate. You should be available to take evening and weekend shifts occasionally. Ultimately, you'll ensure all transactions run smoothly and will help us maximize customer satisfaction. Responsibilities:Manage transactions with customers using cash registersScan goods and ensure pricing & product is accurateCollect payments whether in cash, check or creditIssue receipts and change as necessaryResolve customer complaints, guide them, and provide relevant informationMaintain clean and tidy checkout areas Requirements:Work experience as a retail cashier or in a similar role in salesBasic PC knowledgeFamiliarity with electronic equipment, like cash register and POSGood math skillsStrong communication and time management skillsCustomer satisfaction-orientedPhysical demands include, but are not limited to:Walking/standing on concrete up to 10 hours/dayFrequently turning, standing, reaching, stooping, and/or bendingFrequently pushing/pulling objects 500 to 1,500 lbs.Frequently lifting/carrying objects more than 60 lbs.Work Environment:Requires frequent exposure to cold/freezing temperaturesEquipment in motion (forklifts, electric pallet jacks, scooters) Performs other work-related duties as required and assigned.May be required to work in other departments as needed.Benefits Include:Company Paid Medical, Vision, Dental Insurance Vacation, Sick & Personal PTOOther Union Benefits including AnnuityAcknowledgement:I fully understand the responsibilities and qualifications required for this job.
