PLAN @ 1121 Rock is an accredited Clubhouse Model organization that operates according to Clubhouse International standards. PLAN stands for People Living Active Now and is a program of Jewish Family Service of Dallas that is geared to recovery support for individuals with mental health challenges. PLAN @ 1121 Rock is a vital and highly interactive location that offers a place of belonging and is a launch pad for those who are committed to living well, self-sufficiency and independence.
The Peer Support Specialist provides occasional transporting of Clubhouse members to medical appointments and conducts check in’s at client residences. This positions also refers Clubhouse members and other assigned clients diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness to appropriate programs, as needed, and helps them integrate into the Clubhouse Work-Ordered Day program. The qualified candidate will have a heart for helping those who struggle.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED
- MHPS (Mental Health Certified Peer Specialist) Texas State certification
- Self‐identified as having direct personal experience living with mental illness and recovery, with a primary diagnosis of mental illness or dual diagnosis.
- At least one (1) year of experience working on recovery and able to manage own wellness
- Agree to disclose own mental illness diagnosis for the purpose of educating, role modeling and providing hope to others about the reality of recovery.
- Be a member in good‐standing at PLAN @ 1121 Rock Clubhouse with leadership experience within the Clubhouse recovery model
- Be able to manage the dynamic of being in a staff‐role in the Case Management program, and simultaneously, a member of the Clubhouse WOD program.
