Are you passionate about precision design and ensuring project excellence? We're seeking a talented Designer to join our dynamic team. As a Designer, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing project timing and quality, ensuring that project deliverables meet our high standards.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize your strong design prowess to develop mechanical equipment with meticulous attention to detail.
- Maintain adherence to project schedules and specifications to achieve timely project completion and meet milestones.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to prepare comprehensive submittal packages.
- Craft detailed fabrication-level drawing packages to guide manufacturing processes.
- Foster effective communication with internal stakeholders, including sales, engineering, manufacturing, and customer service teams.
- Demonstrate versatility by efficiently managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Provide support in addressing technical issues related to manufacturing, sourcing, and field installation.
- Engage with shop fabrication, machining, and assembly processes.
- Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address challenges and ensure project success.
- Occasional travel to plant sites for field measurements, installation support, and troubleshooting.
- Contribute actively to Product Teams to enhance JMS products.
- Adhere strictly to all JMS, Inc. policies and procedures.

Qualifications
- Must possess a minimum 3 years (6,000 hours) of experience in 3D modeling with SolidWorks (preferred)
- Expert level 3D designer and/or Certified SolidWorks Professional preferred
- High level of knowledge/experience with applying drafting standards to fabrication level drawings
- 3 years of experience with the design of mechanical equipment, weldments and assemblies
- 2 years of experience with 2D design and detailing with AutoCAD a plus
- Strong background in the design of mechanical equipment with high attention to detail
- Strong communication skills including the ability to negotiate positive outcomes
- Experience with power transmission equipment including motors, gearboxes, chain drives, shafts & bearings
- Requires a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook
- Proficiency with completing design calculations
- Desire to learn and to continue developing knowledge and skills
Desired Experience and Skills
- Knowledge of fabrication processes such as bending, punching, welding, machining, etc…
- Experience with the municipal water and wastewater industry a plus
- Experience with material handling systems (conveyors and bulk storage) a plus
- Experience with electrical power, instrumentation, and controls a plus
Education
- Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant field of engineering with equivalent combination of experience
