What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Manager position at Jim's Landscaping?
Jim’s Landscaping serves high-end residential homes in Metro West Boston (Dover, Needham, Wellesly, Westwood, Weston, Newton, Cambridge, Brookline, JP among other geographies).
We are primarily a maintenance company but have strong project capabilites as well (patios, walkways, new lawn installations etc).
We are hiring an energetic Landscape Account Manager who shares our team’s core values of professionalism, teamwork, and safety.
Responsibilities:
Help our customers: work with new and current residential customers, providing expertise and consultations regarding customers’ needs and how our team can help.
Facilitate efficiency: help train and develop crews to ensure your estimated and accepted projects finish on time with safety, quality and efficiency metrics met / exceeded.
Property stewardship: Perform regularly scheduled site visits to client properties to proactively make any recommended improvements or changes to current maintenance plans. We try to find issues before our customers do and come to them with solutions rather than wait for them to come to us with problems.
Grow our business: create compelling proposals from the information gathered at client sites (inbound and proactively discovered). Facilitate quotes from our preferred subcontractors as needed, and develop relationships and partnerships with service providers in complementary fields (pressure washing, tree removal, irrigation etc).
Qualifications:
- Landscaping experience is an absolute must! You can tell a rhododendron from a boxwood, explain the benefits of core aeration, and diagram the most efficient way to mow a lawn.
- You’re good in the dirt AND on the computer - we rely heavily on documentation and standard processes to keep our client’s experience consistent and exceptional. You should be comfortable storing notes and photos in our systems and checking instructions for job notes.
- You can grasp the numbers- you don’t need to be Einstein, but a basic understanding of gross margin, lifetime customer value, and customer acquisition costs will help with your job.
- You genuinely care about people and their properties. You should care about remembering a dog’s name or an upcoming retirement party. We are in the relationship business.
- You’re wired for continuous improvement - whether through youtube videos, books or podcasts, you’re always looking to learn something new to help with your job, career, and personal development.
