POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide leadership and support in the development, implementation, management, and review of safety, health and environmental processes that affect the Shawnee Films Plant. Provide management oversight in the areas of physical security. Lead, conduct or manage hazard/risk assessments, incident investigations & studies of plant operations, equipment and processes.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise Safety, Health & Environmental staff including Safety Coordinator, Contract Occupational-Health Nurse and Environmental Consultant. Coordinate plant Safety, Health & Environmental Management System (SSHEMS).
- Develop, administer or oversee safety, health and environmental programs, processes and reports that provide for a safe, healthy and environmentally compliant facility and workplace. Work with other members of the plant leadership team to minimize losses and comply with all federal, state, and local safety, health and environmental laws and regulations.
- Lead and conduct plant hazard/risk assessments and Incident Investigations Counsel staff/line management on appropriate responses to safety, health and environmental issues and hazards as identified.
- Provide management oversight for developing and administering systems to ensure that security services are adequate.
- Provide management oversight to ensure adequate response capabilities of the Emergency Response Team.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Fire Protection & Safety Engineering Technology, Safety Management, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or related field
- 7 years’ experience in related safety, health and environmental applications required.
- Supervisory experience required
- Certified Safety Professional desired
- Knowledge of OSHA and Environmental regulations
- Leadership ability to set and achieve high standards for self and others
- Autonomous, can operate independently, is motivated, takes initiative, and can lead and complete projects
- Interpersonal/Coaching skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated organizational skills

- Some travel may be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Manufacturing and office environment. Must wear required personal protective equipment.
