The Department of Population Health Sciences at Weill Cornell Medicine is inviting applications for a post-doctoral researcher position in Health Informatics. This position is funded by the National Institute of Health (NIH) and Weill Cornell Medicine.
The research program at Weill Cornell Medicine has strong expertise and track records in health informatics, data science and clinical decision support. We are actively building our research portfolio on using large datasets including administrative healthcare claims data and electronic health records to develop and implement data-driven clinical decision support.
The postdoctoral researcher will work alongside a team of health informaticians, computer scientists, statisticians, and clinicians in a 5-year NIH R01 study to develop and implement a clinical decision support tool for the emergency department. The role will provide close mentorship to help develop the postdoctoral researcher's independent research career in health informatics, data science, and medicine.
The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for conducting research and development in areas including, but are not limited to:
Machine learning
Clinical decision support
Software development
Emergency medicine
Applicants must hold a Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degree in Biomedical Informatics, Computer Science, Health Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. A record of significant research accomplishments demonstrated through work experience and publications in top-tier peer-reviewed journals and conferences in related fields is also required. Applicants must possess strong working experience with electronic health records and insurance claims data, and have a working knowledge of programming with Python, R, and Javascript. Finally, the successful candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Salary established below per annum commensurate with qualifications experience:
$61,008- $88,000
