The HVAC Load Calculation Specialist for the Commercial Quote Team performs residential and light commercial load calculations, duct designs, and equipment selections following ACCA Manual J, S, and D standards. You’ll work closely with the sales and quoting teams to deliver accurate system designs that meet customer needs. May provide sales support to the field as required.
Position Responsibilities may include;
- Perform detailed load calculations (Manual J) and duct designs (Manual D).
- Select HVAC equipment using Manual S guidelines.
- Review plans, specifications, and blueprints to determine system requirements.
- Collaborate with the Commercial Quote Team to prepare accurate and competitive proposals.
- Ensure all designs meet energy codes and industry standards.
- Create professional reports and documentation for contractors.
- Establish a tracking system and follow ups within a specified time frame
- Support collaborative relationships with the Divisional Staff
- Perform addition duties as needed
Nature and Scope:
- Takes direction from Manager
- Works within well-defined instructions
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience with Manual J, S, and D (ACCA certification preferred).
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and design principles.
- Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., Wrightsoft, Cool Calc, Elite).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- HVAC product/equipment knowledge
- Excellent customer service and relationship management skills
- Excellent verbal & written communication and presentation skills
- Proficient in MS Office - Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Effective problem-solving skills
Experience:
- 2 years' experience Manual J, S, and D (ACCA certification preferred).
- 2 years' experience with HVAC design software (e.g., Wrightsoft, Cool Calc, Elite).
- 2 years HVAC experience preferred
Education:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent, some college preferred
People Management: No
