Job Description

One of YRCI’s clients, with offices in Arlington, VA is seeking one full-time Benefits Processing Assistant, to provide remote and onsite support.

The Role:

  • Process benefits forms and benefits actions
  • Check actions in PeopleSoft (CHRIS), NFC, and other systems and consult with employees on life event changes to processes.
  • Prepare new hire information packages.
  • Enter new employee data in MyEnroll and update MyEnroll data.
  • Contact new employees for benefits follow-up, i.e. provide benefits information on deadlines and benefits in which employees have enrolled
  • Run requested reports as needed, i.e. run Benefits Allocation Systems (BAS) SINQ reports.
  • Assist specialist with preparing retirement estimates.
  • Assist Specialist with calculating SCD dates
  • Assists with conference and recruiting events; provide other support to Benefits Specialists.
  • Prepares employee separation and Temporary Continuation of Coverage (TCC) packages.
  • Prepare packages for the specialist review and signature (e.g., separation and leave without pay actions).
Job Requirements

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

  • Minimum high school diploma; college degree desirable but not necessary.
  • Minimum three (2) years' experience directly related to benefits. 
  • Should have experience using payroll software, i.e. NFC and PeopleSoft (CHRIS) systems; demonstrated ability to process benefits actions within these systems. 
  • Demonstrated ability to perform SPPS actions and life events updates. 
  • Demonstrated ability to complete military deposits and service credit deposits. 
  • Knowledge of Service Computation Date (SCD) computation. 
  • Demonstrated ability to review service history in the OPF/eOPF, and ability to enter data in the retirement calculator and assist in preparing retirement estimates. 
  • Knowledge of personnel/payroll processing.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and strong customer service skills.
