Responsibilities
As an MLT / MT, your primary responsibilities will include
- Performing a variety of complex laboratory procedures for diagnostic purposes, including both routine and specialized tests.
- Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and timely test results.
- Adhering to laboratory protocols and quality standards to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures and protocols.
- Participating in continuous education and training programs to stay updated with the latest advancements in laboratory science.
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret test results and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Ensuring compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations in the laboratory.
- Participating in quality control, quality assurance, and proficiency testing activities to maintain the highest standards of laboratory practices.
The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT), Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting is required.
