We are actively seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in the Architecture and Engineering industry. This role will play a pivotal part in the financial management of our company, working closely with the controller and other key stakeholders to ensure the financial integrity and performance of the business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data, preparing reports, and maintaining financial security by following internal controls.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports.
- Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems.
- Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, or other tax requirements.
- Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
- Report to management regarding the finances of the establishment.
- Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
- Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, or maintain solutions to business and financial problems.
- Advise management about issues such as resource utilization, tax strategies, and the assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
- Provide internal and external auditing services for the business.
- Appraise, evaluate, and inventory real property and equipment, recording information such as the property's description, value, and location.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
- Proficient in AR, AP, GAAP, and cost accounting.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Deltek software.
- Proven ability to handle financial forecasts.
- Excellent mathematical skills.
- Proficiency with current financial software.
- Understanding of data analysis and forecasting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to direct and supervise.
- Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
