We are seeking an experienced Progressive Dies Tool Maker to join our manufacturing team on 2nd shift. This role is responsible for building, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing progressive stamping dies to support high-volume production. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on toolroom experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities
- Build, repair, modify, and maintain progressive stamping dies.
- Troubleshoot die issues related to wear, alignment, cutting, and forming.
- Perform die setup, tryout, and validation to ensure proper functionality.
- Work with engineering and production teams to resolve tooling issues and improve die performance.
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and specifications.
- Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, indicators).
- Operate toolroom equipment such as mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM as needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Ensure all tooling meets quality and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and modifications.
- Proven experience as a Progressive Die Tool Maker.
- Strong knowledge of progressive die design, construction, and maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with metal stamping operations.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T.
- Proficiency with manual and CNC toolroom machines.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently on 2nd shift with minimal supervision.
- Apprenticeship or technical certification in Tool & Die or Machining.
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of different materials used in stamping (steel, aluminum, etc.).
- Familiarity with continuous improvement or lean manufacturing practices.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift tooling/components as required.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing/toolroom environment.
- 2nd Shift (Exact hours TBD)
