Job Description:
- We are seeking an experienced Senior ServiceNow Developer with deep expertise in the overall platform including integrations to lead the design, development, and optimization of ServiceNow-based integration solutions. This role will own the end-to-end technical lifecycle for integrating ServiceNow with enterprise systems, third-party applications, APIs, and data services. The ideal candidate brings strong architectural judgment, hands-on development proficiency, and demonstrable experience enabling scalable, secure, and maintainable integrations in a complex enterprise environment.
Integration Architecture & Development
- Design, develop, and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise systems using Integration Hub, Flow Designer, Scripted REST APIs, MID Servers, web services (REST/SOAP), and message queues.
- Lead the integration architecture for new capabilities, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, security requirements, and governance models.
- Develop reusable integration frameworks, patterns, and templates to accelerate future integrations.
- Build and enhance Script Includes, Business Rules, Transform Maps, Import Sets, custom APIs, and data flows.
- Support platform upgrades, runbook automation, and best-practice integration hardening.
- Troubleshoot integration failures and performance issues; implement corrective and preventive solutions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Enterprise Architecture, Security, HRIS, ITSM, ITOM, and external vendors to define functional and technical integration requirements.
- Serve as the subject-matter expert for API design, authentication models (OAuth, Basic Auth), and secure data exchange patterns.
- Provide technical guidance to junior developers and participate in peer reviews.
- Create high-quality architectural diagrams, sequence flows, mapping documents, and operational documentation.
- Ensure integrations adhere to compliance, privacy, data retention, and audit standards.
- Contribute to ServiceNow governance models, coding standards, and CI/CD automation.
- 6 10 years of experience as a ServiceNow Developer, with at least 3 years specializing in integrations.
- Strong expertise with IntegrationHub, Flow Designer, Scripted REST APIs, MID Server orchestration, and web service integrations.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, ServiceNow Glide API, and ServiceNow scoped application development.
- Experience integrating ServiceNow with enterprise systems such as HRIS, ITSM tools, CRM systems, identity platforms, monitoring tools, or cloud platforms.
- Strong understanding of authentication frameworks (OAuth 2.0, JWT, Mutual TLS).
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex issues across distributed systems.
- ServiceNow certifications preferred (CSA required; CIS for ITSM/HRSD/IntegrationHub highly preferred).
- Experience with event-driven or asynchronous integrations (Webhooks, Kafka, MQ, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with CMDB, discovery, and lifecycle management
- Familiarity with Now Assist, Vertual Agent, and AI search
- Experience in large-scale global environments with high availability and data integrity requirements.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices such as Git, ATF, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment frameworks for ServiceNow.
- Experience designing integrations in regulated industries or environments requiring strict security controls.
- Strong analytical and architectural thinking.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
