Jockey is seeking an Assistant Merchandiser to join our Merchandising team!
The Assistant Merchandiser is responsible for assisting in the creation of brand assortments in the apparel product lines.
This position will be located at our corporate headquarters in Kenosha, WI (between Chicago, IL and Milwaukee, WI area).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist with development and management of brand and product strategies for assigned categories and for the total company, to meet corporate strategic initiatives and financials.
- Assist in cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment, clarity and collaboration across departments for assigned categories.
- Track prototype samples, fabric swatches and other development materials.
- Strategically interpret and align consumer insights to all aspects of the business.
- Prepare and analyze selling reports to evaluate product performance, trends and opportunities at the style, color and silhouette level.
- Actively participate in key go-to-market meetings.
- Partner with cross-functional team members to develop key concepts and assortments to ensure the product offering is commercially viable and meets the consumer needs and brand architecture.
- Create and manage product briefs, seasonal color requests and product lifecycle documents, and communicate any changes throughout the development process.
- Monitor and assist with packaging requests and artwork approvals.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including account executives, account planners and channel marketing.
- Become an expert in understanding the product and product lines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in merchandising, marketing or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-2 years related experience – includes internship experience.
- Basic understanding of market and consumer.
- Strong collaboration skills through clear and authentic communication style with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams).
- Tableau and PLM Software knowledge a plus.
