Job Summary:
The primary function of the Human Resources Administrative Assistant is to provide timely personnel support services at John F. Murphy Homes, Inc. (JFM). The Human Resources Administrative Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to enable the successful application of Human Resources programs to include some or all of the following functional areas: departmental development, HRIS, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, recruitment and retention, organizational development, executive administration and employment.
The Human Resources Administrative Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services with attention to detail, follow-through, and handling sensitive and highly confidential information. Many of the tasks performed involve diligence, attention to detail and handling of highly confidential information.
A reliable individual with a customer service focus is required for effectiveness in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides administrative assistance within the Human Resources Department to include all activity involved in all facets of personnel administration. Tasks will include developing and completing forms, typing, filing and file maintenance, computer operations and data entry, and conducting new employee processing.
Assists as needed in the recruitment process by conducting pre-screens, interviews, reference checks.
Assists with benefit enrollment, informational meetings, benefit correspondence distribution, LOAs, billing, workers compensation, etc.
Enters and updates employee data in databases as required.
Gathers employee data, establishing methods for tracking, reporting and filing.
Assists front desk as needed when coverage is not available.
Assists or prepares correspondence as requested by Human Resources Manager or Human Resources Director.
Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions, escalating to the Human Resources Manager as needed .
Participates on various committees to provide Human Resources support with employee engagement events including job fairs, banquet recognition, DSP week, etc.
Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Human Resources or related field required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
One to two years of Human Resources or general business experience preferred.
Human Resources certification preferred.
Familiar with Microsoft Office software, Outlook preferred.
