What are the responsibilities and job description for the Art Director position at John McNeil Studio?
John McNeil Studio is looking for an Art Director to join our team. We are a creative marketing company made up of a collection of diverse skill sets: strategists, writers, designers, filmmakers, technologists, and photographers who help brands reinvent themselves through digital transformation. We are founded in aesthetics but also in utility and we make things that make brands thrive.
Every project we take on represents an opportunity to build a brand, whether it’s a global campaign theme or an online banner. As an Art Director you will help us grow global brands by creating and implementing compelling design, interactive and print experiences for our clients’ online web presence and branding.
Role:
- Translate complex ideas into elegant, intuitive designs.
- Work with designers and writers at the direction of creative leadership to help drive campaigns and programs from concept through execution.
- Push innovation both aesthetically and technologically.
Qualifications
- 3 years of proven agency experience.
- A passion for innovation and technology with a solid understanding of digital tools and trends.
- The ability to effectively communicate ideas, detailed design, and design rationale.
- Extensive digital design capabilities.
- Deep knowledge of web development, usability and design, layout and typography principles.
- Strong aesthetic sensibility.
- Ability to art direct and guide designers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have experience, skill and efficiency in the latest versions of applicable programs: PowerPoint, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Mac OS, etc.
- Can work well in a remote team environment
- A self-starter with a strong worth ethic: willing to work hard, collaborate with colleagues and look for ways to solve challenges.
