Description

BASIC PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB SUMMARY: Oversee and/or participate in all aspects of ministry coordination for the student ministry programs, events, and mission trips.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and maintain a system for event and mission trip planning.
  • Manage event/trip registration.
  • Maintain Student Ministry website along with the Hub.
  • Serve as a liaison for the parents and the student ministry including all communication around events and other questions parents may have.
  • Maintain a system to collect required forms and documents for each event/trip.  
  • Assist with the creative elements for each event/trip.
  • Assist with bus reservations, venue reservations, food reservations, etc.
  • Reserve rooms in church calendar system for events/trips.
  • Attend student ministry events as needed.
  • Review weekly calendar and take initiative to ensure that ministry needs are met.
  • Develop relational disciple-making opportunities with students and their parents.
  • Periodically provide spiritual counseling to parents and students in the ministry.
  • Attend and participate in all regular monthly ministry staff meetings, monthly church staff meetings, staff retreats, training, etc
  • Attend weekly Student Ministry programming, Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. 
  • Support the Senior Pastor and all other church staff.

  • Critical Skills
    • Project Management experience.
    • Computer Skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Publisher, ProPresenter, and Media Software.
    • Strong Communicator.
    • Abilities to relate to high school and middle school students personally and in programming.
    • Able to manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously.
    • Handles all sensitive information with the greatest possible confidentiality and care.
    • Works flexibly with a variety of personalities.
    • High attention to detail.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Seminary experience a plus.
  • 2-3 years’ experience working with middle or high school students preferred.

 

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

  • Ability to lift up and carry 50 or more pounds.
  • Able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Physically able to work inside and outside in various weather conditions.
