The Joshua Tree Bottle Shop, located in Downtown Joshua Tree, California, is excited to announce an opening for a Store Manager! Since our founding in December 2020, we have been dedicated to providing exceptional quality wine at affordable prices while creating a welcoming and enjoyable shopping experience that removes the intimidation often associated with wine selection. We're passionate about what we do and look forward to seeing that same enthusiasm show through you.
The owners are a Serial Entrepreneur and a former Registered Nurse with 20 years of experience in customer service, retail sales, technology, business development, and operations. We are hard-working individuals who value honesty, integrity, and attention to detail and expect the same from you.
The right fit will be a self-directed operations manager with 3 years of retail management experience eager to help us grow the business. Experience with wine is highly preferred but not required. However, loving wine is! We cover the cost for all of our staff to obtain their Level 2 Certification in Wine with the Wine and Spirits Education Trust.
This is a full-time, exempt position with varied hours. The ability to work a flexible schedule is required and non-negotiable. You must be at least 21 years of age and able to communicate proficiently in English (verbal and written). Above-average computer literacy is necessary. College degree required.
Physical Requirements
- Walk, bend down, and regularly stand for 8-10 hours a day
- Climb ladders and lift 50 pounds (wine case) overhead repeatedly
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)
- Providing exceptional customer service
- Managing staff and creating a positive work environment (Includes hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising; Ensuring policies and procedures are followed)
- Inventory Management (Purchasing inventory and maintaining vendor relationships; Accurate monthly inventory counts; Utilize Square POS)
- Merchandising and organization of the retail space
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting (Proficiency with Google Docs/Sheets; Experience using Adobe and Slack preferred)
- Cash drawer reconciliation and weekly bank deposits
- Regular engagement with social media accounts
- Packing shipments and organizing delivery
- Coordinating in-store tastings and special events throughout the community
