Job Summary

The Legacy and Individual Gifts Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors, with a particular focus on planned giving. This role involves building strong relationships with current and potential donors to secure both current and future gifts to support the organization’s mission.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement comprehensive individual and planned giving strategies to meet organizational fundraising goals.
· Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors, with a focus on planned giving prospects.
· Design and execute programs to promote planned giving options.
· Collaborate with management team to create and implement targeted strategies for major gifts and planned giving.
· Prepare and deliver proposals, presentations, and educational materials on planned giving to prospective donors.
· Conduct regular research and analysis to identify and engage potential major and planned giving donors.
· Oversee the development of marketing materials and communications to promote planned giving opportunities.
· Manage a portfolio of major and planned giving prospects, including regular communication, meetings, and personalized stewardship.
· Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of individual and planned giving strategies and provide recommendations for improvement.

Required Skills & Abilities:
· Knowledge and experience in fund raising techniques.
· A “self-starter” and goal driven to initiate donor visits and fundraising calls.
· Strong, verbal, written and listening communication skills to interact effectively.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Cultivate positive, supportive and responsive interactions while encouraging independence.
· Act in a respectful manner toward each person regardless of age, gender, race, nationality, religion, ethnicity, social or economic status, sexual orientation, health condition or disability.
· Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment effectively.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Education, Certifications and Experience Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in related field.
· Extensive experience in individual giving, major gifts, and planned giving, with a proven track record of successful donor cultivation and solicitation. (Preferred)
· Strong knowledge of planned giving vehicles and best practices.
· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the adeptness to understand and adapt messaging to effectively engage and build relationships with diverse audiences, including high-net-worth individuals.
· Proficiency in fundraising software and CRM systems. (Preferred)
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Physical and Environmental Factors:
· Ability to lift or carry up to 25 pounds regularly.
· Indoors, sedentary up to 7 hours/day sitting or standing and up to 4 hours/day keyboarding.
· Ability to bend, twist, stoop on a regular basis.
