• Kevin is the hiring manager, and he does not like to see job hoppers or people that are straight out of bootcamp… He says the bootcamps do not teach the Cruise Planner technical stack so it causes gaps.
• No specific frameworks are required because they created their own framework that they use which is Symfony & Laravel
• 80% backend 20%front end work
• Very heavy on APIs – Soap based & Restful based APIs as they have multiple partners that they work with.
• He wants someone with JavaScript experience – Specifically jQuery as their group is still a bit old school.
• Front end – Bootstrap is what they are currently using and looking for
• Their system is very large because they partner with a lot of other companies.
• Nothing is currently outsourced. They have 6 developers and even the CIO/VP will code when needed. They have 3 QAs / a few PMs and utilize Jira.
• Role has been open for 3 months and they are getting a lot of people fresh out of boot camp or that are not local. They want someone local ideally but will consider for great resource
• First preference is Perm but not going to say complete no against C2H
• They will need to go through background check and a non-compete before starting (The noncompete is specifically for their direct competitors which there are very few) So for example Carnival Cruise Line is not a competitor and they are more ruling out other travel agencies.
• First 90 days they will be in office Tuesday through Thursday and then can choose own schedule once that is done
