We have an exciting and inviting opportunity for an Human Resources Generalist to be based in our Corporate Office. The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible will perform administrative tasks and daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including entering and approving time in HRMS, applicant screening, onboarding staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Acts as back up for payroll
Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications, including scheduling physical, drug screens and lift tests
Implements new hire orientation
Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, directs more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings and investigations
Advises managers and supervisors regarding appropriate resolutions of employee relation issues
Reports and coordinates Workers’ Compensation claims with carrier and provides managers with claim information regarding restrictions and return to work
Maintains records of core insurance enrollment and handles billing
Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately
Provides clerical support to the HR department
Performs other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
Bilingual Required
Paylocity experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
At least 2 years of human resource experience required
At least 1 year of payroll experience required
Reporting location will vary day to day (Modesto, Hilmar, Livingston)
Work Environment and Special requirements:
1 Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
2 Must be able to lift 40 pounds at times
