What This Position Is About
The individual will be a hands-on facilities technician with the responsibility to provide support for mechanical or electrical issues, preventative and corrective maintenance on facility equipment, processing vehicles and buildings and grounds at the JTI Leaf Services complexes. The individual will report to and receive primary mentorship/instructions from the Facilities Manager.
Areas of Responsibilities
Facilities: Provide mechanical or electrical maintenance support, both preventative and corrective, for all facilities (repairs of bathrooms, lighting, doors, roof cleaning, painting, HVAC (preventative, filters), etc.) upon the Manager's request. Submit Maintenance Workorders in SAP Maintenance tracking system, and verify when workorder task assigned has been fulfilled (document hrs. parts and corrective action).
Safety: Work with contractors to assist with fire inspections quarterly, perform weekly inspections of PIV (post indicator valve), perform fire pump houses weekly inspections and fire extinguishers monthly. Fill in the forms for reporting. Replace expired fire extinguishers. Do monthly ladder inspections and complete inspection sheets, as well as monthly emergency lighting inspections and repairs if needed.
Infrastructure: Perform safety inspections of forklifts (repairs, maintenance, parts, inventory). Keep Storm drain ponds clean, check monthly. Provide moving support (i.e. furniture, etc.) as needed. Upon request, perform housekeeping responsibilities for both inside and outside, for ex. trash removal, external fence inspection, etc. Coordinate contractors' outdoor maintenance activities (tree trimming, grass, de-icing walkways, sidewalks, etc.) and report any concerns.
Who Are We Looking For - Requirements
- Associate Degree with a mechanical or electrical focus or High School Diploma or equivalent with 3 years of mechanical or electrical hands-on experience in an industrial environment.
- Minimum of 3 years mechanical or electrician experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but will consider individuals new to work force with mechanical or electrical degree.
- Articulate in English with good communication and written skills when dealing with individuals
- Self-Motivated, Ability to work in a team environment, Proficient Digital literacy, Open minded, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Skills.
