Job Description
We are a small, family owned, 7 days a week medical company located in SE Alaska.
Job Type: Currently we are looking to fill Part Time shifts, Saturday and Sunday availability preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Greet patients upon arrival; verifies appointment time, insurance, assist new patients with appropriate paperwork/concerns/questions, and personal information via Electronic Medical Records (EMR) in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ensures the accuracy and completion of statements before forwarding to billing for processing
- Appropriately screens all calls and walk-in patients and visitors while utilizing medical professionals and/or other administrative staff.
- Reconciles daily receipts/petty cash within established guidelines as directed and closes batches daily.
- Oversee and ensure efficient turnover of patient rooms while assisting Medical Providers as necessary.
- Provide general patient care services, may include taking patient's vital information, specimen collections, audiometetry, and wound care.
- Intake registration forms via EMR, conversing with patients to complete records
- Responsible for returning calls in a prompt, courteous and professional manner
- Cross-training for a medical assistant position after 6 months, candidates are required to be flexible. This includes being available for front desk coverage, some weekends and to perform other duties as assigned
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION:
- minimum 1-year experience in the medical field preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and EMR knowledge helpful, training provided.
- Must have current BLS or willing to obtain within the first 90 days of employment
- Knowledge of basic Microsoft Office
