Whether it be drop off platters for a small backyard gathering, an office happy hour, a full service wedding or corporate holiday party, we are dedicated to bringing the source, season, and people together in harmony to create lasting memories for all our clients. Position Overview The Executive Chef (EC) will oversee and manage all aspects of our expanding workplace catering program, which produces roughly 1,000 meals a day, five days a week in our commissary kitchen in Oakland. The EC will spend the majority of their time working from our commissary kitchen but will also spend time at our client locations in and around the Bay Area.  The Executive Chef (EC) will also oversee and manage all culinary aspects of our social events catering program, which provides high touch special events for both corporate and private clients. The EC will spend time working both in our commissary kitchen in Oakland and occasionally onsite at event locations throughout Northern California. This role is essential in bridging communications, logistics and company culture between sales, front of house and culinary operations. This is a position with great growth potential as the EC will eventually contribute to the concept, planning, opening and management of future food programs and our new Headquarters. Fare is evolving during an exciting time and is looking for a unique EC who is a great people person and knows how to get the best from everyone, is detail-oriented, knows how to implement systems and tools efficiently and effectively, and is a true problem-solver no matter the challenge.  Schedule & Expectations Typical schedule is Monday through Friday with hours dependent on the service. You are responsible for managing your schedule, based on your shift availability, with your supervisor. Occasionally, some weekends for event execution. We care deeply about work life balance and will work with you to ensure a manageable work schedule.
