Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift M-Th 2:15pm-12:45am

Job Title: Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

Shift: 4x10 hours: M-Th 2:15pm-12:45am

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Education/Experience

• Two to five years related industrial/military experience and /or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree preferred.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following.

• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities, and visually inspect and test assigned machines and equipment for proper functionality.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production
• Perform mechanic-based tasks including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, trouble shooting and repair of production machines.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Perform a variety of routine plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
• Track and maintain electronic records on all maintenance and repairs to machines and facility.
• Order/requisition parts as needed.
• Follow company and departmental principles, rules, guidelines, etc. with regards to health and safety, ISO and IATF requirements, Lean manufacturing principles, and good housekeeping
• Other duties as may be assigned.

Skills

• Basic Mechanical knowledge
• Basic electrical trouble shooting
• General mechanical aptitude with knowledge of building and utility systems
• General ability to read mechanical blueprints and electrical schematic diagrams
• Computer literacy to allow for interface with maintenance management systems
• Prior locksmith, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry or painting experience preferred
• CNC Machining background

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
