Job Description
K&T Security is hiring a Spanish, bilingual Special Police Officer (SPO) to support access control and customer service duties. This position requires strong communication skills in both English and Spanish, a professional demeanor, and the ability to manage access in a busy environment. The ideal candidate will be reliable, courteous, and experienced in working with diverse populations in high-traffic environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control access at the main entrance of the facility.
- Communicate effectively with Spanish- and English-speaking visitors, staff, and community members.
- Verify identification, log visitors, and enforce access protocols.
- Provide customer service and assistance to the public and on-site staff.
- Deter unauthorized individuals from entering restricted areas.
- Observe and report any suspicious behavior or safety concerns.
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor while using de-escalation techniques as needed.
- Document activities and incidents in detailed daily reports.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly Wage: $20–$23, depending on experience
- Schedule: Daytime hours only; no nights or weekends
- Benefits: Health insurance available after one year of employment

Minimum Qualifications:
- License: Must HAVE Valid SPO License issued by the District of Columbia
- Language: Fluent in both Spanish and English
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in security or law enforcement, with access control experience
- Technology: Must own a smartphone (Android or iPhone) to access required apps for scheduling and reporting
- Conduct: Must pass a comprehensive background check
- Uniform: Must comply with K&T uniform and appearance standards
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in multilingual and/or multicultural environments
- Military or law enforcement background
