Patient Placement Coordinator RN - St. Mary Medical Center Walla Walla, WA

Under the general direction of the Manager, Resource Team, remains responsible for placement of all patient transfers-in, direct admits, and Emergency Department admits to Kadlec Regional Medical Center and facilitates acceptance of patients to Providence St. Mary's Medical Center; Facilitates physician communication and participates as necessary in identifying the accepting physician; Verifies bed availability as it relates to COBRA regulations; Establishes strong relationships with key staff throughout the organization; Provides feedback to the referring physician for transfers in from other facilities. The Specialist's responsibilities are primarily administrative and the position is not expected to perform direct patient care.

Required qualification:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Computer (windows environment) experience.
  • Experience in a variety of software applications with an emphasis in word processing and data entry.
  • Required upon hire: Washington Registered Nurse

Preferred qualification:

  • Recent, acute care nursing experience.
