Job Summary:
Efficiently manage the front office of Clinical Services programs through accurate collection and processing of medical data for electronic medical records, ensuring that current and accurate database information is available in a timely and confidential manner, provide accurate information for payment and insurance billing processing.
Responsibilities:
- Reliable and professional customer service beginning with client registration for Public Health clinics (e.g., immunizations, travel clinic, sexually transmitted diseases (STD), tuberculosis (TB) clinics, and HIV counseling & testing clinic) using electronic medical record (EMR) software. Ensure confidentiality while screening for client services.
- Management of client medical records, including accurate entry of diagnosis and procedure codes in Electronic Medical Records, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and billing.
- Ensure accurate processing of all cash and credit transactions, accounting for discrepancies daily.
- Assess client needs and provide appropriate information, services, and referrals.
- Maintain State guidelines by recording appropriate immunizations and STD information for reports and documentation.
- Accurately and efficiently conduct front desk activities, including answering phone calls, faxing, filing, and payment processing.
- Provide support services to Clinical Services staff, order and maintain supplies for programs.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate of an accredited certificate program for administrative medical assistants or similar discipline preferred.
Experience:
Typing 60 wpm preferred with medical terminology and insurance billing experience preferred. Computer proficiency, professional phone etiquette with good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently with excellent organizational skills and a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of community resources desired. Bilingual strongly preferred.
