Job Summary:
The Medication Technician is responsible for safely administering medications to residents or patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse and in accordance with state regulations and facility policies. This role ensures accurate medication distribution, documentation, and monitoring, while also supporting the overall health and well-being of individuals in a residential or healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:

Accurately prepare and administer medications to residents per physician orders and facility protocols.

Document medication administration and any observations in accordance with facility procedures and state guidelines.

Monitor residents for adverse reactions to medications and report any concerns to nursing staff immediately.

Maintain proper storage, security, and inventory of medications and related supplies.

Assist residents with daily living activities as needed (e.g., grooming, hygiene, mobility).

Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, residents, and families.

Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality protocols.

Attend required training sessions and stay up to date with certifications.
Qualifications
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Completion of a state-approved Medication Technician training program.

Current certification as a Medication Technician (Med Tech) in [State].

At least 6 months of experience in a healthcare or assisted living environment preferred.
