Shift: M-F 6:30am - 8:30am and or/ 2:30pm-5:45pm

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Ensures programs and services meet community needs to include supervising existing program activities, establishing new program activities, and expanding the program within the community as needed.

2. Maintain positive relationship with children, parents, staff and volunteers.

3. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.

4. Works with supervising director to implement curriculum with the appropriate and established guidelines.

5. Assume other duties, responsibilities and projects identified as needed by the employee and approved and/or assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· High School diploma or equivalent.

· College coursework in Child Care preferred.

· One to two years related experience preferred.

· Valid State of Minnesota issued driver’s license.

· CPR/AED/BFA certification within first 30 days of employment.

· Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

· Additional trainings as required by the position.

· The employee frequently is required to sit and reach, and must be able to move around the work environment.

· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
