What are the responsibilities and job description for the Actuarial Analyst I position at Kansas City Life Insurance Company?

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:


  1. College Degree with an emphasis in math, statistics, finance, or related field or other major in conjunction with credit for preliminary Actuarial exams (VEE credit).
  2. Good PC skills, including the use of spreadsheets and databases and aptitude for insurance and actuarial software.
  3. Basic knowledge of insurance concepts.
  4. Good communication skills.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:


  1. Supports actuarial analysis to assist in the development of rates, reserves, and financial forecasts used in actuarial recommendations and reporting.
  2. Maintains actuarial databases, compiles, categorizes, documents, and validates data for analysis and related reports.
  3. Effectively uses actuarial software to support decision analysis including a basic familiarity with actuarial software and models used to support work assignments, accurately maintaining model inputs and reviewing reasonableness of results.
  4. Assists in preparation of Actuarial communications including financial reporting, profit or risk analysis, response to regulators, or information for management or agents.
  5. Assists in the implementation of new actuarial systems.
