What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian I position at Kansas City University?
Job Type:
StaffAs a critical part of the Building Services team, the Custodian performs general cleaning tasks within the Kansas City University campus buildings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs cleaning functions including dust, mop, wet mop, vacuum, gathers and disposes trash, washes walls, vents, windows, fixtures, etc.
- Cleans restrooms using germicide solution for control of bacteria and odors, polishes fixtures, replaces disposables such as toilet tissues, paper towels and fills soap dispensers.
- Represent department and the University favorably and in accordance with established Core Values and expectations.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the organization.
- This shift works Monday to Friday, 4:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Qualifications:
- Must have the ability to read, write, and follow oral instructions
- Cleaning/custodial experience preferred
- Must have manual ability to perform general cleaning, which may include moving furniture
- Requires frequent bending, stooping, reaching, walking, and the ability to lift 50 pounds.
