Position Summary & Responsibilities: Field Representative
oin the high performing team at the Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL) as a full-time unclassified Field Representative in Unemployment Tax at our Topeka office. In this role, you'll play a pivotal role in independently investigating and closely corresponding with employers to ensure compliance with the Kansas Employment Security Law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clarify disputed wage claims and resolve discrepancies, contributing to fair and accurate resolution processes.
- Utilize approved agency techniques to collect delinquent Unemployment (UI) tax reports, ensuring timely and complete compliance.
- Provide advisory services to employers, accountants, payroll services, attorneys, and other stakeholders on UI Tax rates, rating procedures, payment terms, and proper report completions, promoting integrity and accuracy.
- Serve as the Agency's Ambassador, responding to requests for assistance or information accurately, courteously, and promptly, thereby enhancing the public perception and image of the agency and its functions.
- May issue and serve subpoenas, court orders, and other necessary court documentation for compliance purposes, and testify before courts as required.

Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalency
- Some experience in general office, clerical or administrative support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
- Valid drivers license
Preferred Requirements:
- Some experience in business, financial, or accounting.
- Previous employment experience and/or education in accounting or business management.
Post-Offer, Pre-Employment Requirements:
- State of Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate. The successful applicant (even non-residents) must obtain a valid Kansas Certificate of Tax Clearance by accessing the Kansas Department of Revenue's website within 10 days of the date the applicant has been offered the employment position. A Tax Clearance is a comprehensive tax account review to determine and ensure that an individual's account is compliant with all primary Kansas Tax Laws. A Tax Clearance expires every 90 days.
