As a member of the Human Capital Team you will fill a critical role in the day-to-day operations of the Human Capital department and will be responsible for a wide range of human resource activities. This position will assist and provide support to the team in a variety of activities related to payroll, benefits, onboarding, training records and other HR administrative functions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Human Capital Team
- Provide support and perform a variety of functions that include but are not limited to payroll, benefits, onboarding, training records, personnel, and safety
- Serve as a resource for employee questions, concerns, requests, and information
- Prepare new hire orientation materials and assist with new hire orientation
- Act as Time Administrator for the company and ensure timesheets are accurate and completed in a timely manner
- Process employment verifications and unemployment insurance documents in a timely manner
- Prepare paperwork for various benefits and leave of absences to include COBRA, FMLA, Worker’s Compensation and ADA regulations
- Fosters and maintains a positive and productive employee relations climate and culture
- Assist in development and implementation of new employee policies and procedures
- Support the Human Capital Team in all areas of HR as needed
- Participates on improvement teams, as needed
- Maintains employee records and file systems
- Complies with all applicable Federal, State and local laws, as pertaining to human resources
- Other duties as assigned
Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or similar discipline
- 1 – 2 years of general human resources experience
Skills and Competencies
Strong verbal and written communication skills- Strong organization and prioritization skills
- Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality
- Thorough knowledge of state and federal employment-related laws and regulations
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and email
