What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician Assistant position at Kapolei Pet Hospital?
Job Overview:
We are seeking a new addition to our team. We're a small but strong, professional and supportive group. We need someone who's fast on their feet. Has an open and curious mind. Enjoys learning new skills, and doesn't shy away from asking questions. Having someone full-time would be ideal, but we can work with a part-timer, if the right person presents themselves. However, the candidate must be able to work full days (7:30am - 4:30pm and 7:30am - 6:30pm).
Duties:
- Assist veterinary technicians in performing medical procedures.
- Assist in preparing pets for surgery and assisting during surgical procedures.
- Perform laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis
- Assist in taking radiographs.
- Assist with monitoring patients in recovery after waking from anesthesia.
- Clean and sanitize exam rooms, surgical areas, and equipment.
Experience:
- At least 2 years in a veterinary clinic would be ideal.
- 1 year in a professional work environment where in-person interaction and teamwork was required.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate nature and genuine love for animals.
- Ability to work well within a team.
