Reports to: Facilities Coordinator
Description:
Performs custodial tasks and operation of various types of cleaning equipment. Performs a variety of activities requiring
communications and support to department and performs other work-related tasks as required.
Responsibilities:
- Authorities for an employee are granted by means of work instructions, policies and procedures and/or direction provided by management to meet the requirements of the customer
- Performs custodial duties including sweeping and mopping of floors, dusting and polishing furniture, wood work, fixtures and equipment and washing windows and walls.
- Vacuums and spot-cleans carpeted areas and rugs.
- Empties and cleans waste receptacles on a regular basis.
- Cleans and maintains custodial supplies in break rooms and rest rooms.
- Cares for plants and flowers through watering and fertilization.
- Notifies supervision of any of areas requiring repairs or addition and recommends method of correction.
- Responsible for meeting established quality and quantity levels of work assigned, housekeeping and safe work practices.
- Support the implementation, achievement, and maintenance of the Quality and Environmental Policies and Procedures.

- Must be able to lift Forty (40) pounds.
- Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision.
- Must be able to operate cleaning equipment and be cognizant of methods and materials.

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. The employee is required to wear appropriate safety protective equipment at the proper times and in the proper environments as required by safety program rules
Physical Demands:
The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 40 pounds. The employee may also be required to work in hot temperatures.
