Job Description: Armed Security Officer

The Armed Security Officer will be responsible for providing coverage for various locations on in Chicago, IL. The position provides a full-time schedule. The officer is provided with a set schedule for a majority of their hours. The Security position requires complete availability and requires the officer to be as flexible as possible.

Skills And Qualifications

• 21 years of age
• High School Diploma, GED/Transcripts required
• Armed credentials (40-Hour Armed Training Certificate & Current PERC required)
• Previous experience as a Security officer is desired
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Capable of following complex instructions
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Willingness to participate in the company’s screening process, including drug screen, background investigation, psychological screening
• Knowledge of security operations and procedures
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, based on the organization's needs.
  
  

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors and the premises
• Provide excellent customer service
• Adhere to all company service and operating standards by acting lawfully, ethically, honestly and professionally at all times
• Remain in compliance with local, state and federal regulations
• Immediately respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees and customers
• Protect the company’s assets relative to theft, assault, fire and other safety issues
• Follow all client site specific duties, as required and outlined in post-orders
• United States citizenship or documented authorizations to work in the United States.
• Ability to effectively listen, understand, and communicate in English (verbally and writing) at the appropriate levels.
• Knowledge of ability to establish appropriate levels of professionalism, assertiveness, and leadership.
• Ability to work effectively under stressful conditions and emergency situations.
• Highly accountable, reliable, and prompt, with a strong work ethic.
• Reaching, bending, standing, and stooping to perform security checks.
• Extended periods of walking and standing.
• Ability to physically restrain under adverse conditions as well as the ability to manage weights of 75 lbs. to 200 lbs.
• Proficient in situation de-escalation and in physical restraint techniques.
• Ability to effectively hear and respond to 10 codes.
• Effective at securing residential environments
• Must have an active PERC Card issued by IDFPR
• Must have completed 40 Hour Security Training
• Must have a valid Driver's License and or valid State Identification
