Preconstruction Manager Job Description
Role and Responsibilities
- Assist sales managers with preconstruction process
- Create preliminary budgets and detailed estimates
- Write preliminary specifications and detailed contract specifications
- Manage preconstruction schedule to keep design, selections, and estimating process on track
- Create preliminary construction schedule
- Set-up new residential projects in project management software (BuilderTrend software and others) to turn over to project managers
- Assist project managers as needed during construction process
- Help create change orders and answer other specification and bid related questions
- Verify phasing of AP invoices and review reports for estimate-actual
- Assist with further development of templates and processes to improve estimating process, reporting capability, and the scheduling and communication systems for preconstruction and construction processes
- Opportunities for small project design
- Potential crossover to commercial estimating
Qualifications and Skills
- Construction Management degree preferred
- Construction experience preferred
- Integrity / Promptness / Forthrightness / Trustworthiness / Reliability / Excellence
- Ability to communicate well with coworkers
- Self-starter / Self-motivated / Problem solver

Pay: $75,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
