Responsibilities
:
KBR is seeking a Proposal Writer for the Space and Mission Solutions Division. The Proposal Writer will support the Business Development (BD) Team and will be responsible for supporting activities throughout the full lifecycle of BD. The Proposal Writer will work closely with the Business Development and Proposal teams to respond to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs. He/she will write original content to draft compelling and compliant proposals to ensure the successful acquisition and/or retention of business. The Proposal Writer will report directly to the Director of Proposal Operations for the Science and Space Business Unit.
Responsibilities include supporting all phases of proposal development, analyzing solicitation requirements, and ensuring compliance while meeting all schedule deadlines. This position will develop compliant outlines and proposal artifacts, facilitate planning sessions to develop/identify strategies and solutions including win themes and discriminators, and research and develop compliant proposal content for various US government solicitations. The Proposal Writer will work with technical subject matter experts to articulate our solutions in compelling and easy to understand narrative.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field
Possess strong writing skills—both technical and non-technical
Have effective verbal communications skills
Able to multi-task and support competing projects
Demonstrate excellent people skills by working with personnel of varying experience, technical abilities, and levels of authority
Possess strong internal drive and ability to meet deadlines without constant oversight
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficient in reviewing and analyzing government solicitations and related documents
Exhibit working knowledge of space, engineering support, or health/IT subjects
Ability to turn highly technical material (collected through interviews or research) into easily understood narrative
Ensure relevant information is included in well written text instructions, descriptions, and procedures with supporting illustrations
Identify and resolve barriers that prevent completing projects on time or with the required quality
Master’s degree in related discipline
Experience with Shipley or similar proposal process
