- Academic Advisors will provide accurate information to students about program curriculum and requirements. Academic Advisors are essential in helping the student identify academic and career goals and devising a plan to achieve those goals.
- The ideal candidate must provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff. - Provides academic advising for prospective, new, and returning students.
- Supports exploration of the student's academic and career objectives.
- Assists in providing academic, career, and college adjustment strategies to currently enrolled students.
- Advises new students of academic process and generalized direction to enhance academic success.
- Coordinates academic advising appointments for students each semester.
- Establishes and maintains collaborative and supportive relationships with faculty, student support programs, and college offices.
- Maintains accurate and detailed advising files.
- Other duties, as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree (Education with a focus on Counseling or Student Affairs, or related field), and four years related experience, or equivalent. Strong written and verbal communication required. Must exercise considerable judgment and apply experience in making decisions and work as a member of a high-functioning team. The ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and adjust to changing priorities is necessary. Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes both daytime and evening hours as well as travel to other campus locations.
