The Carpenter is responsible for building and constructing props and furniture for events and the company. The Carpenter reports to the Warehouse Manager and takes direction from the Warehouse Assistant Manager, Warehouse Lead, and Carpentry Shop Lead.

Essential Duties | What You’ll Do – The Fun Stuff
- Builds and constructs custom-made large and small props and furniture according to design specifications. Props and furniture may include large-scale frames, flats, Crates, bar backs/fronts, with Plexiglas, wood, Sentra, laminate, and mirrors.
- Completes fine carving, bevel, and detail work according to design specifications.
- Works as a team with carpentry staff to ensure production flows smoothly and the carpentry shop meets established production deadlines.
- Assist supervisors with structural design, planning layout, and installation.
- Be able to interpret woodworking blueprints and project specifications to deliver top-notch results.
- Determined materials needs, estimates production times, and prioritized tasks to reduce project delays.
- Be able to know lumber by size and strength to suit each Job.
- Be able to know, read, and write measurements as you will be using tape measure all day.
- Prepares props and furniture for events to include but not limited to wrapping fabric and vinyl, drilling holes, nailing, hammering, hand and spray painting, staining.
- Assists in managing supplies/inventory to include making sure supplies/inventory are in stock according to production needs and are used efficiently, organized, and stored appropriately.
- Wraps furniture and props for delivery; unwraps inventory as needed.
- Cleans and sweeps workspace to ensure workspace is organized, safe and free from obstacles and debris.

- Completes all Human Resources and Payroll tasks and notifications through the Employee Self Service Online Portal on a weekly basis, as directed and within established timelines.

Qualifications | What You Need to Bring
- Ability to understand, read and speak simple English.
- Good verbal communication skills to communicate successfully with the Warehouse team.
- Ability to interpret pull sheets and design specifications.
- Familiarity with proper packing methods is helpful.
- Must be able to provide the following tools for use during the work shift: wire cutter and utility knife.
- Good knowledge and ability to use tools for use during the work shift; such as a hammer, screwdriver, hand drill, nail gun, staple gun, tape measure, dollies, and 8 foot and 12 foot ladders.
- Good knowledge and ability to effectively operate power tools, hand tools and various instruments to craft wood projects such as table saw, jig saw, chop saw, router, circular saw, and band saw.
- Really good knowledge of measurements
- Ability to work flexible schedules to include evenings and weekends.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements | What it is Like in the Shop
- Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, bend and reach during entire work shift.
- Able to walk 30% of the work shift.
- Ability to work with hands and arms during entire shift.
- Must be able to move and climb ladders without accommodation.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull 30-40 lbs. throughout the shift. Occasionally may move up to and over 100 lbs. with assistance.
- Ability to handle fragile items safely.
- Required to move throughout the work shift.
- Must have 20/20 vision with correction.
- Must be able to tolerate cold, heat and humid conditions.
- May be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals throughout the work shift.
