Keller is looking for Design Engineer based out of our El Cajon (San Diego), CA location. You will work in our engineering and design center alongside industry-leading professionals with over 60 years of combined experience. We apply cutting edge analysis and design techniques to develop elegant and economical solutions that solve challenging geotechnical problems at sites throughout the Western U.S.
Responsibilities
In this position you will be responsible for performing in-depth engineering analyses and designs for a variety of geotechnical/geostructural design-build construction applications. You will develop technically sound, economical solutions for projects using extensive knowledge of engineering concepts and software applications. In addition assist with research and development of innovations in geotechnical design and construction.
Business Unit Engineering and Design Services
- Conducts engineering analyses and prepares design reports, plans and specifications with little to no supervision for design-build services in ground improvement, earth retention, and deep foundation geotechnical and geostructural contracting.
Quality Management
- Develops project-specific and product-specific quality management processes for design-build projects. Oversees quality control and assurance during construction.
Business Development
- Provides technical assistance for business development presentations and client meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Engineering. MS or PhD preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in geotechnical or geostructural engineering preferred, at consulting or specialty contracting firms..
- Training/experience in earthquake engineering preferred.
- Experience in geotechnical construction design-build projects preferred.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within one year.
- Proficiency in software such as:
- MathCAD
- MS Office
- Ensoft L-Pile and Group
- Slope Stability Analysis Software (Slide)
- DeepEx
- Settle3D
- Plaxis, FLAC, RS2/3
- Scripting languages like VBA, Python or matlab
- Excellent computer, written, and verbal communication skills necessary.

Compensation: $80-90k range - flexible depending on applicant previous experience
