POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for preforming network administrative duties including setting up new users, assisting users with network access, and resolving connection problems. Installing, upgrading, and backing up new software. Monitoring network utilization and security systems. Providing technical support to end users, answering questions, and preparing network training sessions as needed. Maintaining activity logs and making recommendations for new network products. Notifying Supervisor of significant problems and recurring errors in operating systems.
IMPORTANT NOTE
This is not a remote position.
This role requires in-person work at our Operations Center in West Chester, OH.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Manages user network and email accounts; Adds and deletes user accounts as needed.
- Maintains file servers; Backs up software, monitors account space and system usage, and upgrades software as necessary.
- Configures software for network installation and company-wide implementation.
- Ensures that effective security systems are in place to protect network data; Backs up PC and file servers daily; Stores backup data in a secure off-site location.
- Ensures that appropriate safeguards are in place to detect computer viruses; Scans network software as needed to detect viruses.
- Provides phone, email, and in-person support to end users.
- Troubleshoots problems with hardware and software; Maintains an activity log of problems, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for actions.
- Maintains regular contact with all departments to obtain information and to correct errors in network operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
A minimum of one of the following:
(1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of network operations and all related computer hardware and software.
Understanding of Credit Union operations and output requirements.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
PC hardware and software configuration and network support functions preferred.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Strong customer service skills and willingness to assist others.
Able to communicate complex information clearly.
Attentive to detail.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Able to coordinate well with other departments and personnel.
Ability to operate network server, computer tape drive, and other business equipment.
