Responsibilities
- Perform and document physical examinations with attention to detail
- Provide skilled nursing care, anesthesia monitoring, and surgical preparation/recovery
- Conduct dental cleanings and assist with dental radiography
- Administer and monitor medications, treatments, and diagnostic procedures
- Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, radiographs, and in-house lab tests
- Support veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, and client communication
- Ensure accurate and timely medical records using our digital-first platform
- Maintain a low-stress environment for patients
- Participate in shaping clinic protocols and workflow improvements
Skills
- Proficient in physical exams, patient triage, and history collection
- Safe and efficient animal restraint for exams and procedures
- Venipuncture and IV catheter placement (dogs and cats)
- In-house laboratory testing (hematology, urinalysis, fecal, cytology)
- Digital radiography (positioning and safety protocols)
- Dental prophylaxis including scaling, polishing, and dental radiographs
- Anesthesia monitoring and surgical preparation
- Administering and calculating medications (SQ, IM, IV routes)
- Assisting in routine surgeries and emergency care
- Experience with electronic medical records
