POSITION SUMMARY:

As a result of an exciting internal promotion, Kent Nutrition Group (KNG) is looking for an Inside Sales Representative to join their thriving team! This critical role is responsible for daily interaction with KNG customers and prospects, and provides valuable information about customers, sales opportunities, and market developments to the KNG Sales department team.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Solicit, communicate, and sell products to current and prospective customers via phone on Kent Nutrition Group branded products and services.
  • Initiate calls to current dealers and prospects to increase KNG branded products and commodity ingredient sales.
  • Increase sales by initiating, planning, and implementing calls on new and seasonal products, and evaluating the effectiveness of the calls.
  • Negotiate through conversations with the Territory Sales Managers the appropriate customers and prospects who should be contacted by the Sales Managers versus by Inside Sales based upon customer preferences. The Inside Sales Rep is responsible for negotiating with their customers through closure of the deal. 
  • Negotiate terms and set price for the sale of commodities.
  • Work as part of the Inside Sales team to address customer concerns and questions via phone calls and emails to and from customers and prospects, taking steps as necessary to satisfy the customer.
  • Provide input to the Marketing department and Product Managers regarding customer preferences and trends to maximize promotions, bookings, and to increase the effectiveness of future Marketing campaigns.
  • Represent and promote KNG and KNG branded products at Trade Shows by promoting professionalism in the industry, showcasing product knowledge, readily addressing questions, and making appointments for follow up sales.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of work by keeping the Saleslogix database current, analyzing it for trends, and reporting call and prospect information to Inside Sales Manager.
  • Communicate and interact as a team member working with all departments in the KNG group.
  • Develop and deliver educational training programs for KNG employees based upon customer input.
  • Solve customer issues regarding KNG feed products and recommend methods to customers to maximize the use of products. Respond to and resolve consumer complaints in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural related studies or a combination of some college and relevant work experience required

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office products
  • Strong Animal Industry background is desired with understanding of the following; feeding & nutrition, physiology and the various species and the different disciplines
  • Field sales experience is a plus, however it is not required

TRAVEL:

  • 10% time of will be spent traveling
